I also downloaded Free DVD (44KB only), since I used DVD Decrypter before, and I think it failed to remove region protection because the DVD backups of original Angelina Ballerina DVDs I made won't play in our Philips DVD player back home, but somehow would play in PC, laptop, and office PC. DVDShrink is well-known to be picky about nav structure.Ĥ) It integrates the above apps very nicely, and it almost sets itself up when you first install it.ĥ) Whether or not you suspect a disc has protection on it, you can use RipIt4Me on them all, it only needs a few seconds to determine if there is or is not any protection on the disc. Which leads to.ģ) It also uses DVDShrink to verify that the structure of the ripped files is okay. But RipIt4Me can automatically generate a PSL very quickly, faster than the plugin, in my experience.Ģ) It uses FixVTS to clean up any "junk" left behind, so DVDShrink doesn't have a problem parsing the files. Now, you can generate a protected sectors list (PSL) manually with DVDDecrypter alone, which will get the job done. The only problem with DVDD is dealing with the newer protection schemes. Why any of you use one over the other I used to use the PgcEdit PSL2 plugin wizard almost exclusively, but RipIt4Me has won me over.ġ) It uses the "best" ripper ever, DVDDecrypter.
